EZSCAN presented as the new technology for diabetes risk screeningat the 6th WCPD 2010


Impeto medical presented EZSCAN during the 6th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetes and its Complications (WCPD) in Dresden, Germany from 8 to 11 April, 2010. More than 60 people had the opportunity to be tested on EZSCAN.


Two workshops have been organized by Impeto Medical. The first on “Diabetes at work, risk management for chronic diseases” was chaired by Dr. Kurt Rinnert, head of the Center of Occupational Health, Cologne, Germany.

The second workshop entitled “EZSCAN, early risk detection for prevention programmes” was chaired by Prof. Ambady Ramachandran, the Director of the Diabetes Research Center and the MV Hospital for Diabetes, Chennai, India.The opening speech was given by Prof. Schwarz, doctor of medicine at the Technical University Dresden, Department of Endocrinopathies and Metabolic Diseases and President of the WCPD.

The two workshops successfully gathered around 60 people. At the end the workshops, the guests had the possibility to be tested.


Impeto Medical presented a poster about “Screening for prediabetes with a new non-invasive methodology (EZSCAN) in healthy subjects – A longitudinal study”. This longitudinal study has proved that EZSCAN is a promising tool that allows through the exploration of the sweat function the detection of an autonomic system impairment.

EZSCAN highlighted

EZSCAN has been highlighted in the Short summary of the WCPD2010’s scientific sessions and has been described as a “very interesting new technical achievement to identify those with increased diabetes risk”.

Congress conclusion
